sorry if i'm repeating another topic, but i didnt see one like this soo...
basically i'm really picky about my games. they have to be artful (i conider music and writing art too), meaning they have to have great graphics, a great soundtrack, and an awesome story line (not cliched).

some examples would be coma (http://armorgames.com/play/6286/), alice is dead (http://www.bubblebox.com/play/adventure/1518.htm), amea (http://www.bubblebox.com/game/adventure/2056.htm), and naturally all pastel games (especially covert front).

if you have any recommendations post them below.

Oh, I happen to have a whole list:

the Synapsis Series (Synapsis 1 and Synapsis 2)
all games by Amanita Design (not all of their games are free)
PNC games by scriptwelder
games by Jonas Kyratzes (I've only played two games by this author: The Infinite Ocean and Arcadia)
Every Day the Same Dream
No Place Like Home
The Outsider (based on the short story by H.P. Lovecraft)

These aren't bad either:
The Old Tree
Somewhere in England 1928
the Worldgate Series (Worldgate I and Worldgate II)

I've always quite liked this one for the simple artwork: http://www.kongregate.com/games/customlogic/sprout

I see everyone is posting free games, but I'll make a suggestion for a paid one.

I have that one! It's a really good one if you like experimental storytelling.

Not sure if anyone have these, but:

- Botanicula
- Kentucky Route Zero (still ongoing as only first two acts are released with three more yet to come.)
- LIMBO
- Lone Survivor (not for the faintest of hearts...)
- Proteus
- Sword & Sworcery (extremely experimental, but I totally dig it as it made me felt super smart.)
- Thirty Flights of Loving (an absolute must-play.)
- Thomas was Alone
