Books!

Post by Vurn »

What books you're currently reading, which do you reccomend, and general book talk.
I just read Life of Pi and damn it was amazing.
TT: I guess one could use those words to describe it.

I don't really like books. I don't read a book unless I like it on the first 50 pages

Then how are you going to do your book report when there is a power outage?

I am for Books, hate that Kindle. I go for the Sciences Fiction such as Jules Verne, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. To H.g. Wells The Time Machine, War of the Worlds, and the Invisible Man. While everyone reading Stephen kings I am reading his predecessor Edgar Allen Poe. Books do last a lot long than the Internet if it was on a Hand Held Devices. Plus doesn't need Batteries.

bender I have a question for you. Base on your last post then I take you would join the Fire Department then?

Uhm... I love books. Since I have got computer with Internet I almost completely stopped reading! That's terrible.
Yeah currently I'm reading "Everything is Illuminated" by J. S. Foer.
My favourite type of book is hystoric.

I'm reading this book about drug addicts, my friend recommended it to me. So far so good, but I'll see, I've just started. It's called Hors, like, heroin.

I'm reading a few books at once, actually. One about Einstein and his theory, one about the history of physics, Bill Bryson's about Europe and the Bible.

@Borys: That's the book made into the movie with Elijah Wood, right?

Fahrenheit 451, very clever.

I'm actually re-reading the Harry Potter series, I'm on Prisoner of Azkaban now.

I'm going to start reading Don Quixote soon, since I got it for Christmas. Apparently the best literary work ever O:
Your reign is ever growing
Spreading like a moss

across rock, under sky, over roots and the thorns
your reach is ever growing, spreading like a moss

Don Quixote... I read it when I was a child, and I didn't enjoy it, it had so many medieval words that I didn't understand. I may give it a try again now though.

I started reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. My godfather lent me the 1st one. I got hooked :)
