So Shiva's gave Murtaugh the arm not because he could or wanted too. But because faith/Ka stated Murtuagh would get that third arm. While making sure Liz and Einstein exist so that the Ka-tet can be formed.

So... I didn't want to make a new thread for this. But like Sundex came up with, SHIVA could be an abbreviation of;
Subnet Hyper-Intelligent Virtual Assistant
Singularity doesn't work since SHIVA was SHIVA before the singularity. But what about Sentient? That would exclude SHIVA from the Subnet, and possibilities that they evolved along side each other surface.

How?

We can't even call this "evolution", because that would involve multiple generations... of what, exactly? Does SHIVA mutate? I have to think about it more.

The Subnet might be Shiva's data bank, with every bit of information copied at least six times. That's why the loop and the knot are similar, for the sake of redundancy.
I'm probably being so super original, huh.

It was something we discussed on Discord yesterday, the possible distinction between the Subnet and SHIVA, SHIVA being an outside force drawn in to the Subnet. Who knows?

I seem to remember at one point that Mateusz said something like "SHIVA doesn't really stand for anything that I know of so anything you come up with is you filling in the holes", but I might be wrong.

Meaning any theories about what it stands for can't be proven or disproven.

Yeah, same for whatever Layer are the locations of Sub10.

I think Mateusz said somewhere that he doesn't like his ideas to be influenced by our theories. So there's probably no chance of a backronym like this to be confirmed, yeah.

But that doesn't mean it's pointless to try to guess it :P

I'm not saying it's pointless either, just a heads up for anyone who might do so to not expect a shiny purple heading for their theory on the page anytime soon.

(On the flipside, there probably won't be a red; for the most recent proposed one I would consider a teal or green. Idk)
