Yeah, I wondered to if there was a symbolism behind these flags.
I know it's been a while but a quick google search gave me interesting results for the symbolism of colors (from this website):
Orange
Symbolic of endurance and strength, orange is the color of fire and flame. it represents the red of passion tempered by the yellow of wisdom. It is the symbol of the sun.
Green
Green symbolizes the breaking of shackles, freedom from bondage. It is the color of fertility. In the Christian context, it represents bountifulness, hope and the victory of life over death.
Also take into account the Usher note:
I think you're ready to enter the Submachine. You know more than enough and will probably find out more on your journey. Remember, this can destroy or transform you. But you will not return the same man. May the wisdom of Thoth guide you.
The first thing we (= the player) see when we leave the lighthouse are the orange flags – we've endured a tremendous amount of hardship, confusion, and solitude, but we managed to leave this trap and came out stronger and wiser. The red fire of passion brought us this far, we endured and made it out. The yellow light of wisdom greets us in form of the sun (no clouds in a desert amirite). After a long time underground in the darkness, we are literally and metaphorically enlightened.

Then, finally, our solitude is ended by Mur, Liz, and Einstein. They greet us all dressed and surrounded by green. We are finally free, and ready for a new beginning. A new life.

Maybe Jatsko was trying to research that when he was still here. On my liz theory video he said he wanted to research the clothing. Maybe he tried to find results about this.

I'm sure it's been asked and answered before, but.. is there any particular reason that clicking "continue" after beating the game sticks you at the final end-screen, unable to go back and collect the last few secrets?

Mateusz said once you escaped the Submachine you cannot go back to it.

thanks SubGod. 8-)

If you want to take secrets - Jump from the Edge and start over again. >:D

BTW, did Mateusz add that lever that returns ladder to the Ship? Poor travellers who managed to be stuck IN MINUTES FROM FREEDOM are waiting.
(not like those who were stuck in the basement with that spoon at the very beginning of the journey were saved by Subgod already.)

^ That. Makes sense from a story point of view.

But Mateusz is also a big fat troll and likes to see us suffer :(

I noticed the two moons/suns too. Perhaps we never were in Earth, perhaps that is the real world in Submachine.
